The story
adidas has kicked off the year in incredible fashion with the release of the Predator 25, continuing the momentum built from a successful 2024, where they celebrated the 30th anniversary of one of the most well received boot lines in football.
The visually pleasing Predator 25 enhances the bold red associated with the classic tongue, covering the entire upper of the boot.
It also draws inspiration from the 1998 Predator Accelerator with wavy black lines that integrate into the brand's three stripes, which now appear on both sides of the boot.
The updated design is completed with new 'Predator' branding on the heel and tongue. Sam Handy, GM of Football at adidas, shared, "The Predator franchise has always been based on pushing the boundaries of boot design – starting with a product that fundamentally altered the landscape of the game.
"Last year we revisited the archive to reconnect the tongue with a new generation of player. For Predator 25 we focus on adding more character via an adapted visual story that hints at, and reskins, beloved aspects of earlier icons.
"Under the hood, we have tweaked and upgraded the existing performance technologies, to create something really special for 2025," added Handy.

The boot features an enhanced upper construction with STRIKESKIN technology for improved grip on the ball, and HYBRIDTOUCH 2.0 for a better fit, faster break-in time, and added cushioning.
The fold-over tongue returns with added foam for foot protection and new rubber elements for better touch. The lightweight CONTROLFRAME 2.0 soleplate also returns, supporting traction and fast movements.
Predator 25 comes in laced and lace-less versions and will be worn by top players like Ballon d'Or winner, Aitana Bonmati, Real Madrid and England star, Jude Bellingham, Spain FC Barcelona star Pedri and Arsenal's Alessia Russo.
The boots are available today in adidas stores and online.
