Orlando Pirates Player Ratings v Etoile du Sahel

Orlando Pirates Player Ratings v Etoile du Sahel
Soccer Laduma rates the individual performance of the Orlando Pirates players, following their 1-0 loss to Etoile du Sahel.   Orlando Pirates Player ratings:   Felipe Ovono: 6   Looked secure in the early stages, as he quick to rush off his line on a couple occasions, although he could have done better for the first goal. While, he had a quiet second half.   Happy Jele: 5   Did not have the best of games in the first half on the right flank, with most of Etoile's attacks coming down Jele's flank in the first half. It was also his sloppy clearance that lead to Etoile's goal.   Siyabonga Sangweni: 6   Looked shaky in the early stages against Baghad Bounedjah in the opening 20 minutes, but was solid for the rest of the game, especially in the second half.   Ayanda Gcaba: 6   Gacaba put in a fine showing throughout the 90 minutes and made his presence felt with a couple crunching tackles in the first half.   Thabo Matlaba: 6   Didn't see much of the Buccaneers full-backing bombing down the left flank, as he spent most of the tie on the defensive end, where he hardly put a foot wrong.   Lehlogonolo Masalesa: 6   Didn't have much of an impact in the entire game, he was overrun by the Etoile midfield but he did need help in the middle of the park.   Gift Motupa: 5   He was a surprise inclusion but he didn't cover himself in glory, as he had no impact throughout the 90 minutes.   Mpho Makola: 6   Didn't have much of the ball down the left flank but whenever he was in possession of the ball, he had no impact in the final third and he was replaced in the 70th minute.   Thabo Rakhale: 5   Not the best of afternoons for the Skillful winger, he squandered the Buccaneers' best chances of the game and he was eventually replaced in the 70th minute.   Thamsanqa Gabuza: 6   It proved to be a frustrating afternoon for the Pirates attackers, as Gabuza was forced to close down from the front, while he had no service to work with.   Kermit Erasmus: 6   Much like Gabuza, worked tirelessly in the attack, although Erasmus was closed down by the Etoile players whenever he was in possession of the ball.   Substitutes:   Menzi Masuku: 5   Replaced Makola in the 70th minute but failed to make the desired impact.   Sifiso Myeni: 6   Myeni was also brought on with 20 minutes to play and saw a bit more ball than Masuku and nearly bagged an equaliser but for a fine save from Mathlouthi.
