Word emanating from the Orlando Pirates camp is that should the Buccaneers reach the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup, players would be treated to incentives. Bucs, Wits Drop Out Of Title Race The Parktown outfit are just a game away from reaching the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup after claiming two vital away goals in the 2-2 draw against Gabonese opponents, CF Mounana on Sunday. After the good showing so far in the tournament, it's reported that the team management has promised the players incentives if they win their next CAF home game which will ensure that they qualify for the group stages. A Soccer Laduma source at the club told the Siya crew that the team will get over R1m for reaching the group stages as a courtesy to thank them on the hard work. "The team is arriving tomorrow but they have already been conveyed the message that if they do a good job, they will get a thank you by means of incentives and that's what will happen when they reach the group stages in two weeks' time. "I am not sure of the exact figures that the team will get when they reach the group stages but they will be rewarded for that," the source concluded. The second CAF Confed Cup leg between Pirates and CF Mounana will take place on Saturday, May 2, at 20:15. Meanwhile, Bucs players will switch focus once again upon arrival in Mzansi to prepare for their Absa Premiership match against University of Pretoria on Friday night.
