Bidvest Wits Didn't Get The Result They Wanted On Sunday, But...

It's probably going to be their toughest game of their CAF Confederation Cup group stage campaign, but Gavin Hunt is looking forward to the return fixture against Horoya AC.

The Guinean side managed to hold Wits to a 0-0 draw at Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday evening despite the Clever Boys dominating the play in Soweto, and will have been delighted to go home with a point in their opening Group C game.

Hunt was disappointed that his side weren't able to make their dominance count in their first group game, but insists that he's looking forward to venturing into Horoya's turf in the new year as they look to get a result against a side that were just one game away from reaching the CAF Champions League group stages this year.

It won't be an easy task, and Conakry is not an easy place to get to, but regarding the return fixture in February, Hunt said, "I'm looking forward to the game, but I'm not looking forward to getting there and getting back… It's a round-trip of about a week almost - which is a problem - but I'm looking forward to the game, that's for sure, once we get there, see what the conditions are and what everything is all about."

Meanwhile, when asked for positives about the 0-0 draw on Sunday, Hunt added, "I thought we played some good at times, there was some good movement, but they're a difficult side - physically much stronger than us - but we got in behind them a couple of times and just had to play the final ball which we didn't do. We either overran it, or it got stuck under our feet, or overhit it - so that was a bit frustrating."

Next up for Wits is a trip to Bamako this coming weekend where they go up against Djoliba in an attempt to pick up their first three points and go top of their table if results go their way.
