An eyewitness at Mamelodi Sundowns' CAF Champions League fixture this weekend has explained the events, which took place between the Brazilians and Wydad Casablanca.
Sundowns secured a 2-1 win over the Moroccan side over the weekend in the group stages of the CAF Champions League, however, the encounter was not short of drama on and off the field.
According to an eyewitness, SuperSport broadcaster, Julia Stuart, Wydad fans were removed from the Stadium after flares were shot in the stands, while there was also an incident regarding the Moroccan players and the ball boy.
"Wydad fans with flares were removed from the stadium by security," Stuart said on her official Twitter account.
"The incident with the ball boy seemed to spark the tension, (which) led to spitting and an altercation behind (the) away bench. Arguing and fighting (ensured) on the field and into (the) tunnel as the sides walked off. Both technical teams and support staff (were) involved, Sundowns players mostly just went to celebrate with fans.
"Coach Benzarti refused (the) interview and headed to the dressing room, Coach Pitso was waiting for the interview when a member of the Wydad staff came and stood behind one of the cameras and shouted at the Sundowns coach while we were live. It was very aggressive and he was basically threatening the coach to watch his words. The rest you can see on the videos doing the rounds," she added.

A Siya source also present at the game went on to explain why Mosimane was shouting on the field and the elaborated more about the spitting incident.
"Pre-match, Pitso (Mosimane) spoke of how wise their players are in 'managing the game'.
"So when they (Wydad) scored the equalizer then they started time wasting then when Sundowns walked off the field, Pitso was shouting to the guys 'look what they doing, why can't you also do that'.
"I can also tell you there was a Sundowns staff member on the other side of the gate telling the ball boy what to do. This is what always happens when they go to away CAF games so that's where they have learned it.
"That ball boy was on the right flank and the guy that pretended like he was going to kick him (the ball boy), was on the bench then number 20 (from Wydad) spat.
"The (Wydad) players going down the tunnel (at the) end of the game also spat into the crowd and at everyone," the source revealed.
