Ahead of today's CAF Super Cup tie between Mamelodi Sundowns and TP Mazembe, former Sundowns defender, Sipho Ndzuzo, believes his former club will not underestimate their opponents.
SLTV: Pitso - We Have Enough Ammunition For Continental Football
The Brazilians will be out to add another trophy to their growing cabinet in a once off match against the CAF Confederations Cup winners and the former Manning Rangers hard man has said that, even though they're on top of their game, Pitso Mosimane's men won't be counting themselves as favourites against the African giants.
"We know that Sundowns are on top of their game right now," he told Soccer Laduma. "I don't think Sundowns are going to come in and look at them (TP Mazembe) as underdogs at all, because TP Mazembe are one of the giants of Africa. They won (the CAF Confederations Cup) as well and that's why they're in the Super Cup. They will come down and give the Sundowns defence a real test. It won't be a walk in the Park for Sundowns."
Nedbank Cup Dates, Times And Venues Confirmed
Ndzuzo went on to say that it will be interesting to see how the Congolese club's star player Rainford Kalaba will play against the team that he was reportedly close to signing for.
"I also think we should take note of Rainford Kalaba," he continued. "He's a player who was with linked Sundowns and he's also done very well for TP Mazembe. So it's his chance to show Sundowns what they missed out on. He'll be coming to prove a point."
Mamelodi Sundowns will take on TP Mazembe in the Lucas Moripe at 19:00 tonight.
