Pitso Mosimane Has Commented On Orlando Pirates Being Back In The CAF Champions League

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach, Pitso Mosimane has commented on Orlando Pirates' return to the CAF Champions League competition and the challenges that come with it.

The Buccaneers booked their spot in the African competition for next season, after ending off their league campaign at second place on the Absa Premiership standings.

Speaking to the media after the Brazilians' 2-2 draw to Maritzburg United in the Absa Premiership, Mosimane went on to explain how difficult it is in Africa, making a special mention to the experience of Bidvest Wits who travelled to Nigeria last month.

"Pirates always plays there, they have been there before us and they've done it before, beautiful. You remember what happened to Wits? They went to Nigeria and then? What do you think we are eating when we are there? Because we are from Enyimba remember. What do you think we are eating?" Mosimane told the media.

"Do you want us to tell you what we are facing, who cares? It is Africa, it is not for the faint heart, you want to play in Africa, and you play. But all I see is people playing second string teams and all that and then when it is like that, you can never compare with Mamelodi Sundowns in that space, let's travel the same route if you can travel the same route with me, let's do it. You cant start half way and then when you reach there you say, no I have won. Let's travel the same route and four years in a row, who qualifies? And number one and number two, every year? Only Esperance, Al Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns, even Wydad, Zesco, it becomes a bit of a problem, I mean you know where SuperSport is at the moment, you know Wits is, you want to play Champions League? Okay let's go," he added.
