Milutin Sredojevic On How Orlando Pirates Lost Their Champions League Match In Tunisia

Orlando Pirates v Esperance

Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic has blamed the loss of concentration for Orlando Pirates' loss against Esperance de Tunis in their CAF Champions League Group B match in Tunisia on Tuesday afternoon.

The Buccaneers, who started the match at the top of the group, were tied on the same number of points with Esperance, have dropped to third on the standings after Guinean outfit Horoya AC defeated Zimbabwe's FC Platinum 2-0 in their match in Conakry yesterday.

Speaking to the media after the match, Sredojevic said Bucs started the match fully prepared and ready, although it took place 72 hours after the weekend's Soweto Derby Absa Premiership match against Kaizer Chiefs.

"We entered this match after a very tough match on Saturday, coming here looking to recover and we would say we did everything possible to recover the team in physical aspect and mentally. We entered very strong in the match and done very well until one moment of losing concentration cost us so much in that set-piece. A moment when you fall down with a result like we fell in that first half, you are practically forced to put yourself in extra attacking mode. You are going to risk into using more striking forces looking for everything to equalise. During that period of looking to equalise we conceded a second goal that practically put the game beyond our control," Sredojevic told the media after the match.

Bucs' next match in the continental competition, as confirmed on CAF's official website, will be against FC Platinum at the Orlando Stadium on March 08.

The first round match between the two teams in Bulawayo in January ended in a 0-0 draw.
