The Brazilians have so far completed the signing of Toni Silva, Jose Ali Meza, Andile Jali and Lyle Lakay ahead of the new season, with it yet to be confirmed whether all four have been registered for 2018/19 season as well as for the CAF Champions League competition.

Sundowns suffered a 1-0 defeat to AS Togo Port in the group stages of the CAF Champions League encounter, making their fight to progress further even harder at this point.

Andile Jali, who was signed by Sundowns last month, was named in the starting line-up, making his debut in the Ka Bo Yellow colours and playing the full 90 minutes of the encounter.

However, absent from the squad today was new signings Jose Ali Meza and Toni Silva, with indications that they may not have been registered for the new season as yet.

Sundowns who will need to free up spaces on their foreign quota for Meza and Silva, currently have on their books New Zealand international, Jeremy Brockie, who could finally be eligible for South African residency, Soumahoro Bangaly, Ricardo Nascimento, Gaston Sirino and Brimah Razak.

Razak and Bangaly have in the past weeks been linked with an exit, although it is yet to be confirmed by the Brazilians which players will be making way for the duo.

In other dealings, Sundowns completed the signing of Lakay from Cape Town City last night, with the player remaining behind in Gauteng.
