Bidvest Wits suffered a 2-1 defeat to Saint Louisienne in the first leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary round tie.
The Clever Boys broke the deadlock after 37 minutes as Malawian international Gabadinho Mhango found the back of the net.
The score remained 1-0 to Hunt's charges as they entered the halftime break.
However, the home side managed to level matters after the hour mark when Sophie fired past Josephs.
Wits were pushing for a second goal in the second stanza as they looked to a lead into the second leg.
Hunt opted for two changes in the closing stages, as Thulani Hlatshwayo and Eleazar Rodgers replaced Sifiso Hlanti and Cuthbert Malajila.
However, the home side snatched victory in dying stages of the game thanks to a last-minute penalty.
