Last year, AS Vita made the headlines in the football fraternity after they were disqualified from the CAF Champions League. The Congolese side had earlier eliminated Mamelodi Sundowns from the competition on away goals, before they were kicked out for fielding an ineligible player.
Following AS Vita's disqualification, the Brazilians were reinstated to the prestigious African competition and went on to win it. This time around, the Congolese are preparing for their Champions League preliminary round game against Royal Leopards of Swaziland in Mzansi.
The first fixture of the two-legged affair has been scheduled to take place at the Somhlolo National Stadium in Swaziland next weekend, with the return leg in Kinshasa set to be played on 19 February.
"AS Vita is in South Africa for a training camp. The team will be here for some time as they are preparing for a game to be played next weekend in Swaziland," a source told the Siya crew.
