The signing of the Stellenbosch left-back has elicited sharp opinions on either side of the conversation, with some questioning Sundowns' signing of an additional player in a position that is already packed, whilst some see it otherwise.
One such person is a Kaizer Chiefs super fan by the name Sisa Ngobeni, who is of the opinion that Sundowns made a key signing in Basadien.
"Mamelodi Sundowns had issues in that left-back position, conceding cheap goals, a player like Basadien brings in a lot of quality", said Ngobeni.
