Banyana will face China on Thursday, June 13, with Van Wyk aware that it is a do-or-die encounter for the team.
"The China match is do-or-die for us, we have a very important task ahead of us against China, obviously against Spain we had them in the first half and we thought we had 45 minutes to hold them but things got really tough," Van Wyk said.
"And with China losing their opening game against Germany, I think it is going to be a tough battle for us because they are going to come out harder than they did against Germany and we need to try and uphold them and obviously we will have a set game plan that hopefully will benefit us in more ways than it did in our opening game," she added.
