International Friendly Report: Banyana Banyana v Sweden 21 January 2018

Banyana Banyana

Sweden proved too strong for Banyana Banyana, as they recorded a 3-0 win in an international friendly at the Cape Town Stadium.

The Swedes went ahead after 10 minutes through an own goal from Bambani Mbane, who steered the ball into her own net.

Thembi Kgatlana managed to carve out a chance for the hosts eight minutes later, but she fired her effort just wide of the mark.

Desiree Ellis opted for her first change just after the 30-minute mark, when Jermaine Seoposenwe replaced Sduduzo Dlamini.

Sweden just edge the possession statistics in the first half, while Banyana failed to register a single effort on target in the half.

The Swedes came out firing in the second half and bagged a second goal in the 47th minute, with Loreta Kallushi getting on the scoresheet.

It was 3-0 in the 69th minute, as Kallushi bagged her second goal after profiting from an error in the hosts' defence.

The final 20 minutes of the second half, failed to provide any goal-mouth action for the home side as Sweden ran out comfortable winners of the day.

Here's how they lined up:

Banyana: Swart , Ramalepe, Vilakazi, Van Wyk (c), Mbane, Jane, Nyandeni, Smeda, Kgatlana, Dlamini, Esau.

Sweden: Anderson, Sembrant, Glas, Hurtig, Asllani, Jakobbson, Blackstenius, Carlen, Ilestadt, Seger, Schough.
