"We would have liked for Mark to be in Durban with the team for the camp, but there simply isn't enough time. So we will go introduce him to the players and give David (Notoane, the U23 coach) support and then return to Johannesburg for our camp with the AFCON squad," Baxter told the Siya crew.

Fish, 45, will also be an opposition analyst at the tournament for Bafana, working alongside Baxter and his assistant Molefi Ntseki as they prepare to face Ivory Coast, Namibia and Morocco in Group D.

The COSAFA squad was announced last week and is made up mostly of U23 players and a few players Baxter said he would still consider for his final AFCON team.

The Englishman has agreed to allow Notoane to take the reins for the regional tournament after the U23 Olympic qualifiers were pushed to later this year by CAF. Baxter will then focus on his provisional squad for next month's tournament.
