Former Bafana Bafana shot-stopper John Tlale has explained why head coach Hugo Broos can make changes to his team except the goalkeeping department.
Usually coaches in major competitions have used the third-place playoff to give players who have not featured an opportunity to play and it could be the case when Bafana take on DR Congo on Saturday.

While he is in support of changes to the starting line-up, Tlale feels that Broos should keep in-form goalkeeper Ronwen Williams between the sticks.
Williams has kept four clean sheets in the competition and his performance in the quarterfinal penalty shootout against Cape Verde will live long in the memory of Bafana supporters. Tlale feels it's important for him to be part of the team as they fight to secure a bronze medal.
"According to me, the third-place game is important for South Africa because we want to have that bronze medal, so I think he should continue with most of the players who have been playing," the former Sundowns goalkeeper said to the Siya crew.
"Maybe he can replace some of the player. Percy Tau hasn't had a good tournament, so maybe you bring in other guys who can rub shoulders with the senior players. But replacing a goalkeeper is very difficult. If you remember well, I did not get an opportunity to start at the Africa Cup of Nations.

He continued: "You can put in players like Mayambela in place of someone like Percy Tau. He should just try give the young boys an opportunity to see what they are capable of doing. But he shouldn't make too many changes because getting a bronze medal will be good for us."
