Bafana have not been in action since edging Sudan 1-0 in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in November last year and they were scheduled to continue their AFCON qualifiers campaign against Sao Tome and Principe in March this year but the game was called off due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki named a strong 25-man squad for two friendly matches against Namibia and Zambia to prepare for the rescheduled AFCON qualifier matches against Sao Tome and Principe next month.

Similarly, the Brave Warriors will also be playing for the first time since their 2-0 loss to Guinea in November last year in the 2021 AFCON qualifiers.

Namibia coach Bobby Samaria also named a strong squad in preparation for the resumption of the qualifiers that included their talisman Peter Shalulile, who recently signed for Mamelodi Sundowns, Chris Katjiukua of Black Leopards and Ananias Gebhardt of Baroka FC. However, Samaria did not include newly-signed Orlando Pirates winger Deon Hotto in his squad.

The last time these two nations met, South Africa edged Namibia 1-0 in the group stages of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in June last year courtesy of a late goal by Bongani Zungu.

Here's how they line up:

Bafana: Ronwen Williams, Abubaker Mobara, Innocent Maela, Thibang Phete, Mosa Lebusa, Mothobi Mvala, Siyethemba Sithebe, Thabo Nodada, Keagan Dolly, Luther Singh, Kermit Erasmus

Subs: Ricardo Goss, S'fiso Hlanti, Motjeka Madisha, Reeve Frosler, Teboho Mokoena, Gladwin Shitolo, Thabiso Kutumela, Lyle Foster, Percy Tau.

Namibia: Vries, Horaeb, Ngaruka, Martin, Gebhardt, Limbondi, Fredericks, Handura, Guriab, Isaak, Shalulile.
