Spain's captain was left out on an account of fatigue, with Ramos' 2020/21 season with Los Blancos largely disrupted by fitness issues that have ultimately seen him lose his place in the national team.
The 35-year-old, however, was one of many high-profile stars overlooked by Enrique, although a few other exciting players will also miss out due to injury problems, such as Barcelona's teenage wonderkid Ansu Fati.
Los Blancos right-back Dani Carvajal is another who will not travel with the squad for this reason, while his club colleagues Isco and Marco Asensio were simply left out due to their form.
While Isco failed to score a single goal in the 29 appearances he made across all competitions for Real this season, 25-year-old Asensio managed to contribute to just nine strikes in 48 matches for Zinedine Zidane's side.
Another surprise exclusion was Celta Vigo captain Iago Aspas, who performed remarkably well in LaLiga throughout the campaign, playing a hand in 27 goals in just 34 games. The 33-year-old was in Spain's 2018 FIFA World Cup squad, but struggled to leave a mark.
