Lionel Messi netted a brace to lead FC Barcelona to a 3-0 win over Las Palmas, but the Catalan giants were forced to play behind closed doors.
The game was being played behind closed due to circumstances in Catalunya on the day.
The hosts nearly went ahead after just six minutes but Sergi Roberto's long range effort was turned away by Chichizola.
Paulinho kept his spot in the line up, and he nearly broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute but his header sailed inches wide of the upright.
Las Palmas nearly stunned the home side just before the break as Calleri rattled the upright from close range.
Barca eventually broke the deadlock four minutes into the second half courtesy of a glancing header from Sergio Busquets.
Lionel Messi had the chance to extend Barcelona's lead in the 56th minute, but the Argentine headed wide of the upright following a cross from Luis Suarez.
Messi was not to be denied in the 70th minute as he collected a fine pass from Denis Suarez before sliding the ball past Chichizola.
Seven minutes later, Barca bagged a third goal as Luis Suarez played in Messi, who slotted home with his for his second on the night.
With time running out, Ernersto Valverde introduced Andre Gomes for Andreas Iniesta as they saw out the remaining stages with relative ease.
