Barcelona reclaimed their league title, after missing out on the final day of the 2013/2014 campaign, as they defeated Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon in the penultimate round of the campaign.
Real Madrid were the side to beat in the first half of the campaign, as Los Blancos maintained top spot until the Christmas break.
However, injuries to Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Luka Modric saw Madrid's form drop and Barcelona took full advantage with the help of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar, as they secured their 23rd title.
Former La Liga champions, Atletico Madrid, without Diego Costa and Thibaut Courtois had to settle for third spot and finished 14 points behind Luis Enrique's side. While, Valencia clinched the final Champions League spots.
Sevilla's final day win over Malaga was not enough to secure a top four spot, as they had to settle for fifth spot, while Villarreal clinched the final Europa League place.
Cordoba's relegation was confirmed with two games remaining, while Eibar and Almeria will be joining them in the Spanish Segunda, after they failed to pick up victories on the final day of the season.
