Cristiano Ronaldo is again sparking a big debate, this time not for his on field performance but for his new haircut.
FIFA's official Twitter account tweeted a story that Ronaldo's hair style with a lightning bolt-esque shape was in fact a tribute to a young boy named Erik Ortiz Cruz.
The boy has undergone a brain surgery to remove a tumour and Ronaldo had apparently styled his hair in such a way so as to match the youngster's scar on his head.
The Real Madrid star reportedly donated €60.000 (R 865 000) for the youngster to have surgery in order to ease the symptoms of his condition, cortical dysplasia, which apparently caused him to have up to 30 seizures a day.
However, there has been no official confirmation from Ronaldo over his haircut, although that is not surprising given that he rarely talks about his charity work.
We cannot verify the truth of the story as it went viral via Social Media, but it would be truly astonishing.
