New Carling Black Label Cup 'Game Changers'

New Carling Black Label Cup 'Game Changers'

The Carling Black Label is back having not featured last year and the organisers have come up with some new innovative "game changers" for the clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.

Fans pick the starting line-up of both teams and two of them even get to sit on opposite benches and call the shots.

But that is not all they will be doing this year. Carling Black Label has introduced some rules, which the fans of the beautiful game will have to vote on.

They are as follows:

Fourth substitution for goalkeeper

Coaches will have an opportunity to utilise the 4th sub, to replace the goalie (injury or strategic)

Fans select the captain

Supporters can vote for the captain once the starting line-up has been confirmed

Twitter selects a substitution

Fans on twitter can contribute to the selection of a sub (in addition to SMS)

Rolling subs

3-5 substitutes will have the opportunity to enter and exit the field of play, at any time.

Yellow card time-out

Cautions will result in 2-5 minutes out of play (off-field)

Twitter selects Man of the Match

Fans on twitter will have an opportunity to contribute to the selection of the Man of the Match

Mic on the ref

The referee wears a mic, so that fans on TV can hear his interactions with the players

Voting for the 'game changes' will close on June 30 and the two Soweto giants – along with Carling Black Label – will look to implement at least one of them. The match has been scheduled for July 27 at FNB Stadium. Fans will be asked to voice their opinion on various platforms, including the Carling Black Label website, radio station call-ins and on Twitter.
