Mohamed Salah's goal celebration for his third strike in Liverpool's 4-3 win over Leeds United raised some eyebrows, but the Egyptian's actions were later explained.

Many were wondering what caused Salah to cover his ears and put his tongue out after he scored his third goal in the fixture, but it was later revealed that it was a tribute to one of his countryman who had to end his career.
Salah's former Egypt teammate Moamen Zakaria, who played for Al Ahly after joining them in 2015, was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) last month and had to hang up his boots.
The 32-year-old was honoured by the Club of the Century last week, with several players using his trademark celebration when scoring in the team's 3-0 thrashing of Ismaily.
Salah followed suit and honoured his former Pharaohs teammate with his celebration.

Zakaria has not played competitive football since December 2018.
He made 12 appearances for Egypt and is a triple Egyptian Premier League and Egyptian Cup winner.
