FC Barcelona defender Gerard Pique's spokesperson has responded to claims that he and wife Shakira were blackmailed over a sex tape.

The Spaniard and his superstar partner had reportedly been threatened by a former employee, as claimed by El Diario Vasco.
It was suggested that Pique and Shakira were asked to pay a big sum of money or else their sex tape would be released.
However, Pique's spokesperson has denied that the report was true, according to Sportsmail.
This alleged sex tape blackmail attempt comes just weeks after Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema was charged for his involvement in Mathieu Valbuena's sex tape extortion scandal.
Benzema faces a prison sentence if found guilty of complicity, although his lawyer has insisted the French international did not play a part in the attempted extortion.
