The Catalan giants confirmed that they have agreed terms with Valencia for Andre Gomes last week.
The 22-year-old, who won the European Championship with Portugal, was also targeted by Los Blancos but agreed to sign a five-year contract at the Camp Nou instead.
Barca have now revealed that his overall fee could rise to €70 million (R1.1 billion), and that the player will be unveiled on Wednesday.
"As part of the transaction, FC Barcelona will pay Gomes's former club, Valencia CF, €35 million (R555 million) plus up to €20 million (R317 million) more, depending on the performance of both the player and the team," a statement on the club's official website read.
"Gomes' contract with Barca will also include incentives worth up to €15 million (R238 million) should he win multiple Ballon d'Or awards.
"The buyout clause in Gomes' contract has been set at €100 million (R1.6 billion)."
