Borussia Dortmund Captain Hits Out At Team

Borussia Dortmund captain, Mats Hummels has opened the door for a potential transfer away from the club after hinting at frustration with his clubs poor form.

See what happened in Dortmund's game against Werder Bremen here.

The German centre back says that there are no guarantees that his team will improve in the second half of the season and described their away form as "rubbish".

A 2-1 defeat to Werder Bremen on Saturday sealed Dortmund's worst first half performance for several decades and while Hummels scored a late consolation, he was also at fault for both goals that his team conceded.

"We're trying to get our heads round this. In the last few weeks we've been okay and at home we seem to have turned a corner, but away from home, it's been anything but," the 26-year-old said."It's quite unbelievable how rubbish we've been away from home."

The World Cup winner went on to call on his team to recover their form now that there is a break in their schedule and concluded that his team deserve to be in the relegation zone.

"Nearly every single player was fighting injuries in the first half of the season," Hummels added.

"We need to make use of the winter preparation. And it would be an interesting experience, also for me, to be pain free. I did not have that since the World Cup.

"We have been concerned for a number of weeks. And looking at our performances it's totally deserved we are down there. There is no guarantee that things will get better."

Mats Hummels is considered as one of the best centre-backs in the world and several clubs, including Manchester United, would be keen to make the most of the opportunity to offer him a way out of the German club, should he state his intention to leave.
