Africa Cup of Nations - Group C   Score: South Africa 1-1 Senegal   Date: 23 January 2015   Venue:  Estadio de Mongomo   Bafana Bafana and Senegal played out to a 1-1 draw in their second Afcon Group C clash at the Estadio de Mongomo on Friday night.   View The Afcon Group Standings   Shakes Mashaba's side registered the first effort on target inside the opening 20 minutes, Vilakazi played a neat one-two with Dean Furman and Thuso Phala before seeing his stinging effort palmed away by Bouna Coundoul.   Bafana suffered another injury blow midway through the first half, as Thulani Hlatshwayo had to be taken off and was replaced by Ayanda Gcaba.   Senegal, meanwhile, saw most of the ball in the opening 45 minutes and looked to the likes of Moussa Sow and Sadio Mane down the flanks to cause a few problems.   Despite having most of the possession, Senegal failed to test Bafana goalkeeper, Jackson Mabokgwane, although Mame Biram Diouf should have opened the scoring just before break but he steered a header wide of the mark at the back post.   Bafana took the lead a minute after the halftime break, as Anele Ngcongca's cross ended up with Oupa Manyisa, who showed great composure to slot into the far corner.   However, the Lions of Teranga managed to equalise in the 59th minute, as Kara Mbodji rose highest to thump a header past Jackson Mabokgwane.   Both sides went in search of the winning and the Lions of Teranga went close in the 80th minute, as Dame Ndoye forced Mabokgwane into a fine with long range effort.   Neither side could break the deadlock in the latter stages of the half and were forced to settle for a point.   Here's how they lined up:   South Africa: Jackson Mabokgwane, Anele Ngcongca, Thabo Matlaba, Thulani Hlatshwayo, Eric Mathoho, Dean Furman, Andile Jali, Oupa Manyisa, Thuso Phala, Sibusiso Vilakazi, Tokelo Rantie   Senegal: Coundoul, Gassama, Mbodji, Sané, M'Bengue, 'Diaye, Gueye, Diop, Sadio Mané, Sow, Mame Diouf   South Africa's Group C clash with Ghana will be televised live on SuperSport on 27 January 2014 at 20h00.
