Afcon Match Report: DR Congo 1-3 Cote d'Ivoire 04 February 2015

Africa Cup of Nations - Semi-Finals   Result: DR Congo 1-3 Cote d'Ivoire   Date: 04 February 2015   Venue: Estadio de Bata   Cote d'Ivoire advanced to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations after defeating DR Congo 3-1 in their semi-final tie at Estadio de Bata.   Check out the latest shows on SLTV, click here!   Congo came close to opening the scoring as early as the fifth minute but Bkila's close range effort was palmed away by Gbohouo.   It was Cote d'Ivoire who opened the scoring with their first shot on target in the 20th minute, as Yaya Toure smashed home a sublime strike form the edge of the area.   However, Congo leveled matters two minutes later, as Dieumerci Mbokani converted from the penalty spot, after Jean Sylvain Bailly was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area.   Gervinho restored the Elephants' lead just before the halftime break with a composed finish from 12-yards out, moments before he had a header kept out by the crossbar.   Yannick Bolasia looked threatening at the start of the second half and nearly leveled matters in the 50th minute, the winger did well eliminate a couple defenders before seeing his effort saved by Gbohouo.   Herve Renard's men added a third in the 67th minute, as Wilfied Kanon kneed home from a rebound, after Serge Aurier's header was palmed away by Kidiaba.   Congo tried to get themselves back in the game in the closing stages but they could not get past a stubborn Elephants defence, as Renard's side moved on to the final.   Here's how they lined up:   DR Congo: Kidiaba , Mpeko, Zakuani, Mongongu, Kasusula , Makiadi, Mbemba, Mabwati, Bolasie, Mbokani, Bokila   Cote d'Ivoire: Gbohouo, Kolo, Tiéné, Kanon, Aurier, Bailly, Die, Yaya, Gradel, Gervinho, Bony   Read: Find Out Which Striker Is Considered The 'New Drogba'
