Afcon Group A Match Report: Gabon 0-2 Equatorial Guinea 25 January 2015

Africa Cup of Nations - Group A   Result: Gabon 0-2 Equatorial Guinea   Date: 25 January 2015    Venue: Estadio de Bata   Equatorial Guinea booked their spot in the Afcon quarterfinals with a 2-0 win over Gabon on Sunday evening.   View The Afcon Group Standings   The opening exchanges proved to be a sluggish affair, with both sides struggling to get anything going in the final third.   Although, Gabon should have gone ahead in the 20th minute, as Bulot Wagha picked out Aubameyang, who had his header saved by Felipe Ovono.   Gabon went close again in the 27th minute, this time Frederic Bulut  played a neat one-two with Evouna firing an effort at goal, which Onvo palmed away.   The hosts struggled to get any attacks going in the the first half but opened the scoring in the 53rd minute thanks to a penalty from Javier Bilbao, after the winger had been brought down in the box.   Gabon's Bulut should have equalised minutes later but the winger managed to blast over the crossbar from six-yards out.   Balbao had the chance to double the home side's lead in the 76th minute but the winger fired straight Ovono from from close range.   The hosts eventually sealed the win in the 86th minute, Bilbao played in Emilio Nsue, who had his effort saved by Ovono, however substitute Ivan Edu Salvador was on hand to fire into an empty net.   Here's how they lined up:   Gabon: Ovono; Randy, Da Gracia, Evuy, Sipo; Kike, Zarandona, Ellong, Ivan; Nsue, Balboa.   Equatorial Guinea: Ovono, Palun, Ondele, Ecuele Manga, Obiang, Madinda, Biyogho Poko, Kanga, Bulot, Aubameyang y Evouna
