2015 African Cup of Nations

Group A

Teams: Gabon V Congo

Date: 21 January 2015

Venue: Bata Stadium

Gabon will be aiming for their second win in the 2015 African Cup of Nations when they take on Congo in their second Group A match at the Bata Stadium on Wednesday night.

The match is scheduled to get underway at 21h00.

Gabon top Group A following their 2-0 win over Burkina Faso on January 17 thanks to strikes from Pierre Aubameyang and Malick Evouma.

Congo, on the other hand, scored late on to earn a 1-1 draw against Equatorial Guinea in their opening 2015 Afcon match.

Emilio Nsue gave the host nation the lead in the first half before Thievy Bifouma equalised late on for Congo.

There is a rich history between Gabon and Congo, having faced each other 26 times in official matches since 1976.

Congo have had the better of those matches with 14 victories to Gabon's five while seven matches have ended in draws.

Gabon last beat Congo in 2005 in Libreville, but in the five matches since then they have failed to walk away victorious.

The last encounter between Gabon and Congo was in June 2013 in Franceville and that ended in a goalless stalemate.

Here is how they line up.

Gabon: Didier Ovono Ebang, Andre Biyogo Poko, Aaron Appindangoye, Bruno Ecuele Manga, Lloyd Palun, Johann Serge Obiang, Levy Clement Madinda, Frederic Wagha Bulot, Malick Evouna, Ibrahim Didier Ndong, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.

Congo: Christoffer Mafoumbi, Boris Moubhibo Ngonga, Dimitri Magnoleke Bissiki, Arnold Bouka Moutou, Marvin Baudry, Sagesse Babele, Cesaire Gandze, Delvin Ndinga, Prince Oniangue, Thievy Bifouma, Fode Dore.
