Real Madrid were crowned UEFA Super Cup winners after beating Sevilla 3-2 in extra-time on Tuesday evening.
Los Blancos dominated the opening exchanges with Isco looking lively in the middle of the park. Although, they struggled to create clear-cut openings.
Real eventually broke the deadlock in the 21st minute as Marco Asensio was afforded space 25-yards out and rifled home a superb strike into the top corner.
Sevilla nearly leveled matters in the 29th minute when Carrico tried his luck from distance, but Kiko Casilla produced a fine low save to deny the midfielder.
The Europa League champions managed to draw level five minutes before the halftime break, as Franco Vazquez volleyed into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane opted for a change after the hour-mark, as Karim Benzema returned to action to replace Alvaro Morata.
Benzema nearly made the perfect introduction in the 63rd minute but his header deflected inches wide of the upright.
Sevilla were then awarded a penalty in the 70th minute when Sergio Ramos brought down Vitolo in the box. Substitute Yehen Konoplyanka stepped up and converted the spot-kick, 2-1.
Real went close in the 81st minute when Dani Carvajal forced his way into the box, however Rico was well-positioned to deal with the full-back's effort.
Zidane's charges managed to level matters in stoppage time, as Carvajal's cross found an un-marked Ramos, who headed into an empty net, which forced the game into extra-time.
Sevilla were reduced to 10 men in the 94th minute when Timothée Kolodziejczak picked up his second yellow card of the game.
However, Los Blancos secured the win in the final minute of extra-time, as Carvajal embarked on a fine run before firing into the top corner.
