UEFA Champions League Starting XI: Brugge vs Real Madrid

UEFA Champions League Starting XI: Brugge vs Real Madrid

With Club Brugge hosting Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League tonight, they will be keen to replicate their famous display from the first leg – here is how both teams will line up!

Teams: Club Brugge vs Real Madrid

Date: 11 December 2019

Venue: Jan Breydelstadion

Time: 22:00

The Jupiler Pro League leaders had Los Blancos on the brink of a defeat at the Santiago Bernabeu after going 2-0 up in the first half.

Percy Tau assisted the first of Emmanuel Bonaventure's two goals before the break, but strikes from Sergio Ramos and Casemiro saved the record champions' blushes.

Brugge, though, are yet to suffer defeat to Real, having collected two draws and a 2-0 victory, which came in 1976, in head-to-head clashes so far.

Los Blancos have already qualified for the round of 16, but cannot overtake Paris Saint-Germain in Group A's top spot, which has allowed Zinedine Zidane to leave Ramos and Toni Kroos at home.

The hosts, meanwhile, are still playing for a spot in the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa League, and are currently one point above Galatasaray after securing a last-minute draw against the Turkish side last time around.

Both Real and Brugge have lost only two games all season, and it will be interesting to see things stay this way.

South Africa's Percy Tau has scored three goals and assisted another six strikes in 2019/20 so far, but has started just two of his club's past six games across all competitions.

Real Madrid: Areola, Militao, Varane, Odriozola, Mendy, Casemiro, Modric, Isco, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Jovic.
