with Vidal, Gomez, Rekik, Gudelj, Oliver, Munir and De Jong all dropping out of the team and they have been replaced by Navas, Kounde, Escudero, Fernando, Jordan, Suso and En-Nesyri.
Suso put the home side ahead with his first Champions League goal in the seventh minute when his deflected effort found the back of the net.
The Sevilla midfield was very sloppy and lacking positional awareness, constantly affording space to Jaden Sancho and Marco Reus.
It didn't take long for Dortmund to equalise just before the 20th minute through a well-taken strike from Mahmoud Dahoud after he was assisted by Erling Braut Haaland.
The Norwegian marksman then turned from provider to goalscorer after playing the one-two before getting to the ball ahead of Sevilla keeper Bounou and poking it into the back of the net.
Haaland doubled his tally shortly before half-time after seizing on a Sevilla mistake. Reus forced a turnover in midfield and it immediately led to a 3 on 2 breakaway, Reus made the simple pass to Haaland on his right, and Haaland slotted it home in the left hand corner.
Sevilla pulled a goal back in the 84th minute to make it an interesting finale to the match. A free-kick was lifted into the box and Luuk de Jong was there to volley home.
