FC Barcelona put on a superb attacking display to thrash Olympique Lyon 5-1 to secure a spot in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.
Ernesto Valverde made three changes from Barca's win over Rayo Vallecano in La Liga over the weekend, with Clement Lenglet, Sergi Roberto and Ivan Rakitic being thrown into the fold.
Following a lively start in the early exchanges, it was Barça who drew first blood in the 17th minute thanks to a penalty scored by Lionel Messi with a cheeky chip down the middle of the goal after Lyon defender Jason Denayer was adjudged to have brought down Luis Suarez inside the box.
Philippe Coutinho doubled the lead for the hosts a minute after the half-hour mark with a tap-in at close range after some impressive workf from Suarez in the build-up.
Lyon, meanwhile, struggled to mount any serious openings at the Barca goal, as the hosts were in full control and looked they were on cruise control.
Just before the hour mark, Lucas Tousart pulled a goal back for the French side with a composed finish inside the box after Barça failed to deal with a cross in the box.
However, Messi ended Lyon's hopes of a comeback with 12 minutes before time, as he weaved his into the box before finding the back of the net with a right-footed finish from 12-yards out.
The Argentine turned to be the provider for the fourth goal three minutes later, picking out Gerard Pique, who made no mistake at the far post.
Second-half substitute Ousmane Dembele rounded off the scoring four minutes before time with a low strike inside the box after being teed up by Messi as Barca cruised in to the last eight of the competition with a 5-1 aggregate victory.
