UEFA Champions League

Teams: FC Barcelona vs Bayern Munich

Date: 14 August

Venue: Estadio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica (da Luz)

Time: 21:00

The Catalan giants booked their spot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League for a 13th straight season, and eliminated Bayern in the semi-finals in the 2014/15 campaign when the two sides last met.

However, the record German champions enter the tie as favourites, having won all of their eight UCL games in this campaign thus far.

The Bavarians also have the better head-to-head record after beating the Blaugrana five times out of eight encounters, In fact, Barca have suffered more defeats against Bayern than against any other team in the competition.

However, the Catalan giants are unbeaten in their past six ties against German opposition, winning four and drawing twice. Their opponents tonight, though, have not lost any game in 2020, having won 23 of their 24 matches across all competitions since 1 January.

This will be the fifth time Bayern and Barca meet in the knockout stages of the competition, and in all previous contests, the winners went on to win the trophy.

Robert Lewandowski is the leading goalscorer in the Champions League this season, having scored 13 times in just seven appearances. He is currently four goals short of Cristiano Ronaldo's record for the most strikes in a single UCL campaign, but will have as much as three more chances to break the record if Bayern reach the final.

Here is how they line up:

FC Barcelona: Ter Stegen; Semedo, Piqué, Lenglet, Alba; Vidal, Busquets, Sergi Roberto, De Jong; Messi, Suárez.

Bayern Munich: Neuer, Kimmich, Boateng, Alaba, Davies - Goretzka, Thiago, Muller, Lewandowski, Perisic, Gnabry
