Thiago Silva Hits Back At "Disrespectful" Jose Mourinho

Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva has hit back at Jose Mourinho, saying the Portuguese "lacked respect" with his comments about the French champions.

Silva was instrumental in his side's 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge, scoring his side's second goal - which helped them to eliminate the Blues.

"It wasn't revenge, but they really lacked respect for us, particularly Mourinho, because he said he wanted to play PSG because it was close and that it was easy for their supporters to travel there," the defender told RMC.

"But I don't think our display was because of that, it was because of last year."

Mourinho had voiced his desire to face PSG in the Round of 16 ahead of the draw because the French champions are so close to London.

"We don't have much choice, there are only five possibilities, but to make it easy for everybody, I would say Paris Saint-Germain," the Chelsea boss said in December.

"It's easy for us to travel, easy for the fans to travel and they won't have to spend a lot of money to go there.

"They are a very good team and I would prefer a really good team, which will motivate the boys. So, if I could choose, even though I can't, I would say Paris."

Mourinho's side knocked PSG out of the quarter-finals of last year's Champions League, but failed to beat them on Wednesday night despite playing with a one-man advantage more for almost 90 minutes - and leading twice.
