Pep Guardiola Hits Out At FC Barcelona

After FC Barcelona's president backed UEFA's recent sanction imposed on Manchester City, manager Pep Guardiola, who once worked for the Catalan giants, has responded to the chief's comments.

In response to the two-season European club competitions ban and £25 million (R487 million) fine City received last week, Blaugrana president Josep Maria Bartomeu said he would like to "thank UEFA regarding FFP (Financial Fair Play regulations)", and that they "have been doing fantastic work in the last couple of years".

Guardiola did not seem pleased when those comments got around to him, saying that if he were Barcelona, he would not make too much noise on bans against other teams.

"If they are happy we are suspended, I say to the president of Barcelona, 'give us two appeals'. I ask right now that the people trust what they have done.

"Don't talk too loud, Barcelona. That is my advice, because everybody is involved sometimes in situations.

"We are going to appeal. and hopefully in the future we can play Champions League against Barcelona."

City will appeal the ban giving to them by UEFA, while Guardiola has, in the meantime, insisted he is completely dedicated to the club.
