The Premier League champions were defeated by a resurgent Los Blancos in Spain, with the away side making one too many defensive mistakes against Zinedine Zidane's men on the night.
However, Klopp thought referee Felix Brych was at fault in the build-up to the home team's second goal, when he did not blow for what the German manager thought was a foul on Mane.
Speaking after the match, the Liverpool boss revealed that he told the match official exactly what he thought of his performance, especially when it came to the Senegal superstar.
"The situation with Sadio, I have to say what the referee did tonight I don't understand," Klopp said, according to Goal.
"For me, that was something personal, because he dealt with the situation with Sadio, which is a clear foul, like it was a dive or something.
"And from that moment whenever Sadio went down, he couldn't get anything anymore. That's just not right.
"That's what I told him after the game, that I just thought he was unfair with Sadio, and that's how it is.
Zidane Responds To 'Strange' Klopp Comment
"It doesn't change anything at all. He didn't lose the game, we were not good enough, but in these moments you need just an OK ref. That would have been enough."
