The Argentine manager was also tearful in his post-match interview, emotions Mourinho feels Pochettino has every right to show after what his team engineered.

"Sometimes people, they don't know how we feel," he said on beIN SPORTS.

"They don't know how much it matters for us and the people who love us. Sometimes people just don't know.

"Sometimes football fans think they care more than us, and they think that it's just like 'win a big match and enjoy, lose a big match and get sad but it's another day'.

"Sometimes they don't know what we are behind the scenes. We are normally a very lonely person in that football consumes a lot. I think this is a manifestation of all of that together.

"He thinks about the family, he thinks about the people that he loves, the people that love him. I feel very normal that he is crying.

"It's a very beautiful way to show the world that, for us managers, it means much more than for the ordinary fan in defeat and in victory too."
