Giorgio Chiellini Accuses Cristiano Ronaldo & Real Madrid Of Paying Ref

Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini was seen making gestures towards Cristiano Ronaldo and other Real Madrid players in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night, suggesting they had paid the referee for his late penalty call, which he called the "biggest robbery" of his career.

The 33-year-old centre back and his teammates were on the brink of one of the greatest comebacks in Champions League history in the second leg of their quarter-final tie after holding a 3-0 lead until the 93rd minute.

However, following a foul on Lucas Vazquez, referee Michael Oliver blew for a penalty in the 93rd minute. The Bianconeri stars surrounded the match official and Chiellini was seen making gestures suggesting the home side had bribed the match official.

Chiellini later backed up his action with a controversial interview, saying Juventus suffered the same injustice Bayern Munich endured last season against Real Madrid.

"It's the biggest robbery I've suffered in my career," Chiellini told Italian television, as quoted by Marca.

"It is obvious that Real Madrid always benefit in the Champions League and that it never goes the other way.

"Bayern Munich still remember what happened here last year."

Juve were on the brink of history as no side in the European Cup/Champions League had ever come back from losing a first leg 3-0 at home, but their heroics were ended after Ronaldo converted the controversial penalty to send his side through 4-3 on aggregate.
