Real Madrid Defender, Álvaro Arbeloa, insists Cristiano Ronaldo is playing the best football of his career, while he is also expecting an emotional return to Anfield.
Arbeloa, who started off his professional career at Los Blancos, spent two seasons at Liverpool before moving back to Madrid in 2009.
"It's a special day for me. I'm really happy to head back to Anfield," Arbeloa told MARCA
"A lot has changed at Liverpool since I left and there are only three players left there from my time there: Lucas, Gerrard and Skrtel."
The Spain international also admitted that he believes teammate Cristiano Ronaldo is at the very top of his game right now.
"What he's doing is incredible and if you'd asked him a few years ago, he probably would have thought it impossible to achieve so much," he added
He's very important to us because he scores in almost every game.
You could say that he's playing the best football of his career, although that has probably been said before, because he constantly surpasses himself."
Arbeloa has so far made 201 appearances for Los Blancos, scoring four goals and assisting in a further ten.
