Why Christian Eriksen might never be allowed to play professional football in Italy again has seemingly been revealed.
The world held its breath last weekend when the Denmark international collapsed during his country's 2020 UEFA European Championship clash with Finland after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Following his resuscitation, the 29-year-old was taken to hospital for further tests and examinations on his heart, with Denmark's team doctor confirming on Thursday that Eriksen would be fitted with a heart-starting device.

According to Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport, this could mean that the Inter Milan midfielder might never be able to play in Italy again due to a certain rule that forbids players with this device from competing in the country.
However, this would only apply to Eriksen if the implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) is installed permanently, with that not yet being known.
"Italian authorities do not allow play any contact sport with a heart defibrillator implanted as any contact or hit could break the device," correspondent Davide Stoppini wrote.
"However, if the ICD is not permanent, Eriksen could have a chance to return to play in Italy, but he would need to go through a complicated process and several medical checks to receive the availability."
It is understood that it would still be possible for the ex-Tottenham Hotspur playmaker to play in leagues in other countries, such as the Eredivisie or the Premier League, two divisions he has previously played in.
