Genoa goalkeeper Federico Marchetti wanted his car to be cleaned following heavy rains in Liguria, but a worker of the carwash drove the red Ferrari 812 Superfast into several parked cars, ESPN report.
The car, which usually costs around €300 000 (R5.6 million), can go from zero to 60 mph in just under three seconds and the crash resulted in the front being split open with the suspension completely destroyed.
Marchetti, who has 11 Italy caps, was at training when the incident happened, but luckily no one was injured.
The 37-year-old later sent a message on Instragram about the incident, saying:
"I am very sorry about what happened.
"Thank God no-one was hurt, and that is the most important thing.
"I've read a lot of bad stuff written. Let's leave it alone - I hope I won't have to read it any more."
