Lazio and AC Milan could not be separated after playing out a goalless draw in the Coppa Italia semi-final first-leg in Rome on Tuesday. The home side went in pursuit of an early lead after Francesco Acerbi shot wide off a cross from the wide in the 17th minute. In the 25th minute, the home side threatened to claim the opener once again as Patric flashed a close-range effort wide. While Milan looked to settle in, Ivorian midfield Franck Kessie had his night cut short on 28 minutes due to injury and was replaced by Hakan Calhanoglu. Simone Inzaghi's side free-flowing movements didn't end there, as Sergeij Milnkovic-Savic sent an effort wide off an on-looking and fully stretched Gianluigi Donnarumma before halftime. Lazio maintained the high tempo from the first half, as Milinkovic-Savic steered a close-range header from Romulo's corner wide on the hour mark. Following his blistering form on arrival, Krzysztof Piatek was kept in check but managed to find a slight opening only to miss the target from the right side midway through the half. With the amount of clear-chances reduced to a premium, Ciro Immobile nearly stole the victory for Lazio but was denied by the post before being ruled for offside. Lucas Biglia came on for his 50th appearance for the Rossoneri and was greeted by heavy boos in the latter stages of the half. However, neither side could find a winning goal as both sides head into the second leg evenly poised.
