Weston McKennie and Danilo were recalled to the Juventus line-up, with Federico Bernardeschi and Aaron Ramsey dropping to the bench after the draw with Hellas Verona.

The first real opening fell to the away side in the opening 10 minutes Diego Farias played in Riccardo Marchizza, who saw his powerful strike rattle the side-netting.

The hosts continued pushing for more goals as the half drew to a close, with Ronaldo forcing a good save out of Provedel on 77 minutes after taking aim from a free-kick.

Ronaldo got his reward on 89 minutes with a low strike past Provedel after some good work by Rodrigo Bentancur, while Spezia missed the chance to bag a conslation after Wojciech Szczesny saved Andrey Galabinov's penalty in the 93rd minute.
