Cristiano Ronaldo continues to make up ground in the Serie A golden boot race after bagging his 23rd goal in Juventus' 4-0 win over Lecce on Friday night.
Serie A
Result: Juventus 4-0 Lecce
Date: 26 June 2020
Venue: Allianz Stadium
After both Lazio and Inter Milan dropped points earlier in the week, Juventus were eager to extend their advantage at the summit.
However, it was the visitors who nearly secured the opening goal when Falco played in Rispoli, who could only volley wide of the mark with only Wojciech Szczesny to beat inside the first five minute.
Juventus, meanwhile, had to wait until the 28th minute for an opening when Federico Bernardeschi picked out an unmarked Ronaldo, whose bycicle kick sailed wide of the mark at the far post.
Lecce's resolve broke minutes later when defender Fabio Lucioni was shown a straight red for bring down Rodrigo Bentancur who was clear on goal.
The hosts should have made the numerical advantage count five minutes before the halftime break but Ronaldo somehow headed wide of the target from six-yards out.
Juventus eventually got the opening goal seven minutes after the break as Ronaldo latched onto a poor back pass to set up Dybala, who rifled the ball into the top corner.
The hosts were then awarded a penalty on the hour mark when Luca Rossettini brought down Ronaldo, who dusted himself off and fired the spot-kick right down the middle to double Juventus' lead.
The league leaders did manage to bag a third goal with seven minutes left on the contest as Ronaldo turned provider again to play in substitute Gonzalo Higuain who fired home from close range.
Matthijs de Ligt rounded off the scoring a minute later with a header from point-blank range for his third league goal of the season as Juventus move seven points clear of second-place Lazio.
