Serie A Report: Juventus v Lazio 06 March 2021

Result: Juventus 3-1 Lazio

Date: 06 March 2021

Venue: Allianz Stadium

Alvaro Morata scored a brace as Juventus moved closer to the chasing pack with a 3-1 Serie A win over Lazio at Allianz Stadium on Saturday.

Juventus made four changes, with Juan Cuadrado, Federico Bernardeschi and Aaron Ramsey and Morata coming into the side and Cristiano Ronaldo a surprise omission. Lazio made just two alterations as Fares replaced Patric in defence, while an injury to Manuel Lazzari allowed Lulic to start.

In the eighth minute, Milinkovic-Savic curled ina free-kick that went just over the bar with Lazio looking very threatening in the opening exchanges.

The visitors took the lead in the 14th minute when Correa pounced on an error, surged forward and blasted it into the back of the net.

Adrien Rabiot equalied for the Bianconeri in the 39th minute when his left footed angled drive beat Reina at the near post. On the stroke of half-time, Fares once again threatened at goal with his pile-driver that went wide of the target,

Lazio had two big chances in quick succession shortly after the break. First Sczeczny denied Correa and then Milinkovic-Savic had his header rattle off the bar.

In the 58th minute, the Old Lady took the lead. They broke on the counter, Federico Chiesa fed it to Morata and he burst into the box and blazed it into the net over Reina.

A miinute later, Ramsey was brought down in the box and the referee pointed to the spot. Morata stepped up and duly dispatched the spot-kick.

With ten minutes to go, Lazio had two chances in quick succession. Correa threatened after he went on a good run, and curled towards goal but it went narrowly wide. And then Fares hit the side-netting with a sweetly-struck shot but Juve cruised to victory in the end.
