Result: Juventus 2-0 Inter Milan

Date: 08 March 2020

Venue: Allianz Stadium

Juventus reclaimed top spot in Serie A after defeating Inter Milan 2-0 in the Derby D'Italia behind closed doors on Sunday evening.

Bianconeri coach Maurizio Sarri have Aaron Ramsey a start in midfield ahead of Miralem Pjanic while Blaise Matuidi, Gonzalo Higuain and Douglas Costa were all recalled.

Meanwhile, Inter brought back their trusted line-up, with only Romelu Lukaku and Nicolo Barella remaining from the UEFA Europa League win over Ludogorets last week Thursday.

Juventus were on the front foot in the early exchanges and came close to grabbing the lead in the 15th minute after Matuidi found space on the left side of the box to have a go at goal but his low strike was saved by Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic..

After being under pressure early on, Antonio Conte's charges started growing in the game towards the half-hour mark but they were yet to create clear chances while the Old Lady also struggled to get any joy in the final third.

Sarri's charges picked up the tempo in their attacks early in the second stanza and Ramsey rewarded the faith shown in him by the Italian, as he broke the deadlock ten minutes from the break with a close range finish after Cristiano Ronaldo's initial shot was blocked.

Bianconeri doubled their lead in the 67th minute after substitute Paulo Dybala exchanged passes with Ramsey, dribbled his way into the box and found the bottom corner with a clinical finish.

Conte responded with a change with 13 minutes left, as he brought on Alexis Sanchez in place of Lukaku while Juventus had an enforced change in the same moment, with Alex Sandro making way for Mattia De Sciglio.

Ronaldo missed two stoppage-time chances but Juventus had done enough to go one point clear at the top of the log and nine points ahead of third-placed Inter, who have a game in hand.
