Result: Juventus 0-3 Fiorentina
Date: 22 December 2020
Venue: Allianz Stadium
Juventus suffered their first Serie A defeat of the season after falling to a 3-0 loss at the hands of Fiorentina on Tuesday evening.
It was the worst possible start for Juventus, going behind in the third minute. Franck Ribery picked up the ball in the middle of the park and a simple pass through Matthijs de Ligt and Leonardo Bonucci put Vlahovic clean through. The Serbian kept his composure to chip the onrushing Szczesny and put the visitors ahead.
Things went from bad to worse for the Bianconeri in the 18th minute when Juan Cuadrado was sent off. The Colombian overran the ball and in an attempt to recover the situation, lunged in and caught Castrovilli with his studs up.
In the 32nd minute, Cristiano Ronaldo picked up the ball on the left before leaving Milenkovic and Pezzella for dead and firing a shot into the side netting.
Juve coach Andrea Pirlo made a change at the break with Alvaro Morata making way for Federico Bernardeschi.
It took a while in coming but La Viola doubled their lead in the 76th minute. Nourredine Amrabat had the first chance which was well blocked before Ribery picked up the rebound. He played it out to Cristiano Biraghi on the left whose brilliant cross was diverted into his own net by Alex Sandro at the back post.
Fiorentina made the scoreline even more flattering in the 81st minute. Bonucci was once again dispossessed far too easily. The visitors broke with speed and Biraghi delivered another dynamite ball that was left by Castrovilli for Martin Caceres behind him to slot into the open goal.
