Serie A
Result: Bologna 0-1 Juventus
Date: 24 February 2019
Venue: Stadio Renato Dall'Ara
Juventus maintained their unbeaten record in Serie A with a narrow 1-0 victory over Bologna on Sunday afternoon.
Following the defeat to Atletico Madrid in midweek, Paulo Dybala was dropped to the bench as Joao Cancelo was brought into the attack.
Juve dominated possession in the early stages of the encounter, but they had to wait until the 20th minute for their first chance of the half when Blaise Matuidi fired over from close range.
The Old Lady managed to carve out a carve out a couple more chances after 30 minutes, with Cristiano Ronado going close with a header before Federico Bernardeschi went close with an effort from distance.
Bologna, meanwhile, were unable trouble Juve at the other end as goalkeeper Mattia Perin enjoyed a relatively quiet opening 45 minutes.
It was more of the same for Juventus in the second half, as they struggled to penetrate the Bologna defence, which prompted a change.
Defender Alex Sandro was sacrificed on the hour mark as Dybala was introduced, with the away side pushing for the opening goal.
Seven minutes later, the Argentine made the difference by firing home from close range to finally break Bologna's resolve.
Bologna surprisingly showed some fight as the half winded down, but Massimiliano Allegri shored things up at the back by bringing on Giorgio Chiellini.
In the end, the defending champions were able to see out the closing stages to extend their unbeaten record to 25 matches this season.
